October is here!

October is our favorite month of the year! We are so happy to have a few new students in our classes. It's been a year already since this school got off the ground and we feel privileged to teach so many wonderful and talented students! Thanks everyone!

　私たちの大好きな季節、１０月になりました！新しい生徒も増えきて、にぎわっています。私たちがフォレストイングリッシュをスタートさせてから丸一年がたちました。すばらしい才能にあふれた生徒たちに囲まれてレッスンをすることができ、とてもとてもうれしく感謝しています！

　さて、最近、家ごはんにはまっています。もう３週間近く外食をしていません（私は小学校で教えているので給食は食べていますが、主人はずっと家ごはん）。以前は週に２、３回は外食していたのですが、なんだか食べ飽きてきて、家でのごはんがとてもおいしく感じます。新鮮な野菜やフルーツをたくさん食べられるので健康的な上、心も満足できて良いです。我が家は基本的には日本食で、主人もあまり好き嫌いはないので作る側は楽です。これから食べ物がおいしい秋。何をつくろうかな？

衣替え

　大変ご無沙汰しております。エモリ夏代です。ゴールデンウィークで始まった５月もあっという間に終わりです。ちゃくちゃくと６月がやってきます。私が学生だったころは、６月から衣替えだったような気がしますが、今でもそうなのかな？実は先日、主人と言い争いになりました。冬の生地のズボンをはいていたので注意したのです。季節にあってないからおかしい！と。でも何か悪いのかまったく理解せず、がんとして聞き入れませんでした。日本では季節にあった服装をするというのを自然に教えられ、”衣替え”をしていますよね。しかし、アメリカでは夏でも寒ければセーターを着るし、冬でも快適なら半そで短パンありだそうです。もちろん衣替えなどという行為はありません。というわけで話があわず言い争いに・・。なんとか日本の文化を説明しましたが、ふーんという感じでした。文化の違いから、これまでさまざまな言い争いがありましたが、また一つ新しいことを発見した日でした。
　　　

Cycling Around the Noto Parts 1-3

Golden Week Adventure!

It is great to be back teaching everyone again, but we had an exciting Golden Week! Wanting to try something different we set out on our bicycles to cycle around the Noto Peninsula from Nonoichi all the way around to Notomachi (Ushitsu). With good weather and little wind the riding was enjoyable and gave us great views at the tops of hills and along the coastal highways and cycling paths.
I compiled a video and might upload it soon.

　みなさん、進級・進学おめでとうございます！新しい学年のスタートですね。今年もみんなの笑顔が絶えない一年になりますように☆

Spring is in the Air!

The weather is warming up and I am getting excited about all the new lessons at our school. We feel truly blessed to start out the class year with so many great students. Here are a few pictures I have taken recently.
